PERSON SPECIFICATION

Competencies/ Personal Attributes:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in General Insurance sector
  • Solutions driven with focus on the customer experience
  • Works to the standards of excellence with focus on continued improvement
  • Strong with Microsoft software application, especially PowerPoint, Excel and word
  • Highly Process Driven
  • Excellent Analytical skill set
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent Organisation, tine management & attendance record is essential for the role
  • Open minded and critical thinker
  • Ability to implement ideas and bring to fruition
  • Excellent personal Communication, negotiating and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of the product development process and project management principles

  • Working knowledge of competitive insurance products, business practices, Markets & competitors
  • Good working knowledge of insurance regulation including, but not limited to, Central Bank consumer regulation, Insurance Regulation and DP Legislation

 

MAIN TASKS

General Qualifications:

  • Business or Sales related Area Degree
  • CIP qualified or Grandfathered status

The primary tasks of the role are:

  • Engage with Insurers and internal AA departments to implement product development/changes, rate changes, documentation updates, scheme changes etc.
  • Contribute to the management and development of new and existing products relating primarily to motor and LCV. The role will require flexibility to take on additional requests as per business requirements
  • Daily communications with operations to effectively deliver new Insurance products and existing product changes
  • Liaise with UAT to ensure products are fully tested and delivered to requirements
  • Engage with, and help to, manage and develop relationships with business partners, such as Insurers
  • Develop new business opportunities across the AA, identifying key profitable segments for promotion, cross sell & retention strategies
  • Co-ordinate the roll out of new products and product developments across the company through effective and accurate communications
  • Undertake and present analysis regarding product suitability and competitiveness, and market developments and opportunities/threats, with appropriate recommendations and actions
  • Challenge current business practices for acquisition and retention of customers
  • Overall, support the business in delivering its business objectives
  • Co-ordination of insurance board
  • Organise operational meeting with our trading partners and ensure minutes and actions are carried out within the expected timeline
  • Assist in customer compliant resolution. This involves making representations to insurers and negotiating on behalf of AA’s consumer
  • Review, and amend if necessary, documentation including policy booklets, members handbooks and all consumers letters

The tangible outputs that this role produces are:

  • Product delievery, programme launch and follow-up activities
  • Contribute to achievement of annual Insurance Budgets
  • Manage the motor P&L account
  • Contribute to achieving monthly motor targets set out by the business
  • Develop and maintain healthy insurer relationships
  • Develop and maintain internal relations with various stakeholders across our business
  • Continuous product development through innovation
  • Challenge existing process and progress alternative solutions that will improve efficiencies for the business
